Decoration never dies, anyway

In a nutshell
Featuring the works of seven diverse artists, this exhibition ranges from laser cut metal to unique clothing to paintings of carpet designs. Every room brings a new discovery on the theme of decoration. The artists were selected from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds. There videos of the artists discussing their work in the Annex. The museum’s website includes these videos and additional information about the exhibition and the main building in English.

The venue
The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum is located at the former residence and grounds of Prince Asaka. It is an Art Deco lover’s dream.

The feels
Visiting the museum is like a trip back in time. The furniture, wall coverings and carpets are in pristine condition. The metal and glass work enhance each room with incredible detail and beauty. The addition of the exhibition’s incredible decorative pieces give the visitor much to take in and appreciate.

Appeal
The house is absolute must for Art Deco lovers; the exhibit is like icing on the cake.
